Journalist brothers -- Rejoanul Haque Raja and Borhanul Haque Samrat -- often posted their family photos on their social media accounts.
Raja, vice-president of Jatiya Press Club and chief news editor of Maasranga Television, and Samrat, news editor of News24, took those photos when most of their family members gathered at their village home in Kushtia’s Khoksa during vacations.Another Eid-ul-Azha is approaching but they can’t take any such photos during any festival, as the second wave of coronavirus pandemic has snatched their parents away. Journalist duo’s father Tofazzal Haque, a former railway official, died of Covid-19 at 6:50 am at Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University on Sunday. He was 85.
Earlier on Thursday, his 82-year-old wife Sajeda Haque died of coronavirus in Central Police Hospital.
They left behind five sons, three daughters, grandchildren and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn their death.
Tofazzal Haque was buried beside his wife’s grave at their family graveyard in Khoksa on Sunday.
Jatiya Press Club, Dhaka Union of Journalists, Dhaka Reporters Unity and Broadcast Journalist Centre expressed profound shock at their death and prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls.
