Sujon for dev of fisheries sector

PANCHAGARH: Railways Minister Advocate Nurul Islam Sujon on Saturday laid emphasis on development of fisheries sector for boosting economic prosperity in the country.

“There is no alternative to expanding fish production as it will help meet the nutritional demand of people alongside expediting economic progress,” he said.

The minister said these while releasing 35-kg fish fries locally name Carp in Kuarimail pond in Boda upazila as the chief guest, reports BSS.

The fisheries sector can also create job opportunities for the unemployed youths of the country, he said, adding the fisheries sector can also play a huge role in creating entrepreneurs, who will improve the rural livelihoods by eradicating the poverty.

Boda upazila chairman Faruq Alam Tobi, Pouro Mayor Ohahiduzzaman Suja, district fisheries officer Saho Newaz Siraji, upazila fisheries officer Abdulla-Al Imran, central vice-President of Krishok League Abdul Latif Tarin and Central leader of Jubo League Barrister Kowshik Nahian Navid, among others, were present.
