An electrical goods’ warehouse and two factories in the capital and Narayanganj caught fires on Wednesday night and Thursday.
In the capital, a fire broke out in an electrical goods’ warehouse on the second floor of SK Market in Nawabpur around 9:40pm on Wednesday.No casualty was reported in the fire incident. Being informed, six units of Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after 50 minutes of frantic efforts, said Mahfuz Riben, an officer of the FSCD control room.
The reason behind the fire couldn’t be known, he said.
In Narayanganj, a carton factory at Bhulta Gawsia in Rupganj caught fire around 5:42pm on Thursday.
On information, 11 units of the firefighters reached the spot to extinguish the fire.
Mohammad Sakib, firefighter of Purbachal Fire Station, told the Daily Sun that the fire was brought under control around 7:30pm. The cause of the fire could not be known immediately.
Meanwhile, a fire incident occurred at Fear Garments at Fatullah in the district around 4:58pm.Being informed, five firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control around 7:20pm. The cause of the fire incident could not be ascertained, said Mohammad Monir, firefighter of Fatullah Fire Station.
