39 hospitalised in 24 hours

The number of dengue patients is increasing across the country with 29 more patients were hospitalised with the disease in 24 hours until Wednesday morning.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), a total 28 new patients were hospitalised in the capital and one outside the city. A total of 124 patients diagnosed with dengue are now receiving treatment at 41 government and private hospitals in Dhaka while three outside the city, it said.

However, no death caused by dengue has been reported in hospitals yet, the DGHS added.

The unofficial sources from different hospitals said at least two people who were infected with dengue died in the capital in the current year.  A total of 536 dengue patients were hospitalised since January until July 4 this year.
