Army chief inspects army patrol in Mymensingh

Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed on Tuesday inspected Army patrol and exchanged greetings with the Army men in Mymensingh.

The Army Chief expressed satisfaction over the role and activities of the army, administration and law enforcement in the second phase of operation ‘Covid Shield’ in Mymensingh area.

He hoped that Bangladesh Army would always stand by the people and work closely with the administration and law enforcement agencies to tackle the Covid-19 epidemic under the direction of the Prime Minister.

Chief of Army Staff was accompanied by General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Army Training and Doctrine Command (ARTDOC) Lieutenant General SM Matiur Rahman, Area Commander Ghatail Area Major General Sayed Tareq Hussain and Station Commander of Mymensingh Brigadier General Md Mahbubur Rahman.

He also exchanged views with the mayor of Mymensingh City Corporation, divisional commissioner, BGB sector commander, deputy inspector general of Police, deputy commissioner and superintendent of police during the visit.

Army has been deployed across the country from July 1 to assist the civil administration and law enforcement agencies in preventing the transmission of Covid-19.

In this context, Army members of Army Training and Doctrine Command (ARTDOC) are conducting regular patrols in Mymensingh.
