Strengthen mosquito control activities

Taposh asks DSCC officials

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh on Tuesday directed officials of the corporation to strengthen the mosquito control activities, saying that dengue outbreak is on the rise again.

“The dengue cases are rising in the capital. New patients are being admitted to the hospitals. So we have to strengthen our mosquito control activities,” Taposh said. 

He came up with the remarks while addressing an online meeting on mosquito control activities.

The mayor also directed DSCC officials to involve the building owners’ associations in anti-mosquito drives.

Taposh said, “Involve all flat-apartment owners and their association in the mosquito control activities and request them to allow our mosquito control workers to enter their homes, because we are monitoring.”

Taposh urged the ward councillors to be involved in the work.

Addressing the women councillors the mayor said, “You have easy access to different houses.

There are rooftop gardens in many buildings. We have to conduct mosquito control activity even in the yard and the rooftop of the houses to.”
