Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar said on Sunday that Digital cattle Haat in Dhaka is another milestone in the journey towards Digital Bangladesh.
The country’s transformation from in every field from government document to digital commerce is unparallel in the world now, he remarked.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government and Dhaka North City Corporation e-Cab's initiative will serve as a rare example in expanding digital commerce, the minister said.
The minister stated, “We have missed the last three industrial revolutions but under the visionary and dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh has reached the stage of leading the fourth industrial revolution.” He said that the people of Bangladesh can easily adopt technology. Many of those who are being given rice or stipends by the government digitally have no idea about mobile but now they have learned to adopt technology easily.
Under the direction of Information and Communication Technology Adviser to the Prime Minister Sajeeb Ahmed Wazed, already 98 percent of the country has been brought under the mobile network. E-Cab President Shomi Kaiser presided over the function while Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Tazul Islam inaugurated the event.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Hasan Mahmud, Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim, State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak, FBCCI President Jasim Uddin, ICT Secretary NM Ziaul Alam spoke at the event.
e-CAB General Secretary Abdul Wahed Tomal conducted the function. e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh and Bangladesh Dairy Farm Association are implementing this year's digital haat under Dhaka North City Corporation as per the directions of the Ministry of Commerce.
