Japan, ASEF provide PPE for Covid-19 response

Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh Naoki Ito hands over personal protective equipment (PPE) to DG of Directorate General of Health Services Prof Dr Abul Bashar Mohammad Khurshid Alam in the city on Sunday.

The Japan International Cooperation System (JICS), on behalf of the government of Japan, and the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the World Health Organization (WHO) in Bangladesh to support Covid-19 response.

This substantial delivery includes 30,000 isolation gowns, 200,000 surgical masks, 8,000 particulate respirator masks, 2,500 safety goggles and 100,000 gloves worth over $53,000.

These essential supplies for medical professionals and frontline workers will support Bangladesh’s efforts to curb the recent spike in Covid-19 cases in the country.
