Ali Osman Khan, former lawmaker of Netrokona-3 (Kendua-Atpara) constituency, passed away in the city’s Bangladesh Medical College Hospital on Friday. He was 74.
He had been suffering from illness for a long period of time and was undergoing treatment to the hospital.Ali Osman is survived by his wife, three sons, three daughters, grandchildren and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
He was a two-time elected member of parliament and was elected for the first time from the BNP in 1979 during the tenure of Ziaur Rahman. Later in 1986, during the tenure of Hussain Mohammad Ershad, he was re-elected member of the parliament from the Jatiya Party in the same constituency.
Ali Osman Khan was also the founding convener of Kendua Upazila BNP in Netrokona and the founding president of Upazila Jatiya Party.
