Different sports organisations wished media personnel on the occasion of World Sports Journalists Day on Friday.
World Sports Journalists Day is celebrated on July 2 every year to recognise the efforts of sports journalists covering and writing news related to the games.Bangladesh Cricket Board’s media and communications committee chairman Jalal Yunus conveyed best wishes to Bangladeshi sports journalists, who believed had taken the different sports in the country to a new height.
“On the occasion of World Sports Journalists Day 2021, I wish to extend my warmest wishes to the sports journalists in Bangladesh who have taken sports to new levels with their passion, commitment, dedication and hard work,” Jalal was quoted in a statement provided by BCB.
“Sports bring hope, joy and happiness to millions of people across the globe and that is why we must thank the sports journalists for the wonderful job they are doing,” he added.
Bangladesh Football Federation president Kazi Salahuddin and the members of their executive committee also wished Bangladeshi sports journalists to mark the day and hoped that they would continue their good work to improve the standards of the country’s sport.
International Sports Press Association president Gianni Merlo claimed that sports journalists have been suffering a lot since the Covid-19 started last year and he hoped that they can start working like the old times very soon.
