The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has allowed the local airliners to operate flights on domestic routes for passengers of international flights.
Those who are going abroad or coming from abroad will be able to use flights on domestic routes, according to the decision taken by CAAB on Thursday.According to CAAB, passengers from abroad will be able to take domestic flights from Dhaka to Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Syedpur, Barishal and Jashore. Similarly, they can come to Dhaka on domestic flights to board on international flights.
However, no one will be allowed to travel on these flights except those going abroad or from abroad. Passengers must show proof of their international flight information before boarding the flight. The airport authorities have also been instructed to monitor the matter.
A complete lockdown has been imposed in the country on Thursday to break the contain the upward trend of coronavirus, which will continue till July 7.
The CAAB initially decided to continue operation of international flights suspending all domestic flights.
