Banco securities chairman Muhith arrested at HSIA

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday arrested Banco Securities Limited Chairman Abdul Muhith from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in a case filed for embezzling around Tk 66.59 crore.

The anti-graft body arrested Abdul Muhith from Dhaka airport when he is trying to leaving the country just an hour after the commission filed a case against him. ACC sources said Muhith will be produced before a Dhaka special judge court on Wednesday and he is now at the custody of Ramna Model Police station.

Earlier in the day, the commission deputy assistant director Nur Alam Siddique filed the case with its integrated district office in Dhaka-1 against Muhith and five others on charge of embezzling client money worth about Tk 66.59 crore.

The other accused are Banco Securities Limited directors M Shafiul Azam, Waliul Hasan Chowdhury, Nurul Eshan Sadat, Munim Chowdhury and Jamil Ahmed Chowdhury.
