Kings maintain unbeaten run

The defending champions Bashundhara Kings beat FC Brahmanbaria by 6-0 goals in the day’s first match of Women’s Football League at the Birshrestha Shaheed Sipahi Mohammad Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur on Monday.

Forwards Krishna Rani Sarkar and Sirat Jahan Shopna scored twice each while captain Sabina Khatun and midfielder Mossamat Sultana netted one each for the winning side.

With the victory, Kings consolidated the top slot with 24 points while Brahmanbaria remained third with previous credit of 12 points.

The day’s second match between Ataur Rahman Bhuyan College Sporting Club and Kachijhuli Sporting Club was abandoned as Kachijhuli failed to submit their Covid-19 test reports to the federation.

The club was also absent on the field and as they previously did the same thing twice, they are likely to face a short-term suspension or monetary penalty imposed by BFF disciplinary committee as per the bylaws of the tournament.
