Education key to dev of country: Dipu Moni

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni on Sunday said education is essential for the fulfillment of the dream of building a developed and prosperous Bangladesh by 2041 and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  

Mentioning that every work of education ministry is very important for the nation, she urged the ministry officials to work for the implementation of the annual performance agreements with honesty, dedication and sincerity.  

The minister made the remark while addressing a ceremony arranged at the conference room of the ministry on the occasion of signing annual performance agreement for 2021-22 fiscal year.

Dipu Moni said besides formulating MPO policy despite the Covid-19 pandemic situation, the education ministry had formulated and reformed some laws and rules.

The draft education law has been finalised while they also handed over text books for free among 35 crore students on the first day of New Year amid the pandemic, she said. 

The annual performance agreements were signed between the Secondary and Higher Education Division and the 15 offices and directorates under the division while Secretary of the division Md Mahbub Hossain and the heads of the offices and directorates signed the agreements on behalf of their respective organisations.  

Meanwhile, the annual performance agreements were also signed between the Technical and Madrasah Education Division and its five offices and departments. Secretary of the division Md Aminul Islam Khan and the heads of the subordinate bodies signed the deals.
