Mahmudullah fined for misconduct

Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis on Wednesday fined Gazi Group Cricketers skipper Mahmudullah TK 20,000 for misconduct during a Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division T20 League.

Mahmudullah was found guilty of conducting a level-2 offence during their game against Prime Bank Cricket Club on Wednesday.

The incident occurred in the 16th over of Prime Bank’s innings when Gazi Group players appealed for a caught behind against Alok Kapali off left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed but the on-umpire was unmoved.

Mahmudullah lost his cool after their appeal and he lied down on the adjacent pitch to show his dissatisfaction with the umpire’s decision and he also refused to stand up despite the umpire asking him.

Mahmudullah is the third cricketer to get fined for misconduct in the ongoing DPL as earlier Shakib Al Hasan and Sabbir Rahman were also fined for separate misconduct incidents.

Shakib was fined TK five lakh as well as a three-match suspension while Sabbir was fined Tk 50,000.
