The Anti-Corruption Commission on Thursday served a notice to former BNP minister Barrister Nazmul Huda’s wife Sigma Huda asking to submit her wealth statement to the commission.
The commission in the notice from its the Segunbagicha headquarters asked Sigma Huda to submit her wealth statement within 21 days, said ACC public relations officer Mohammad Arif Sadiq .He said that the commission issued the notice after its primary inquiry detected some suspected illegal wealth in her name.
Barrister Sigma asked to provide her wealth statement through the prescribed form that also sent her along with the notice to her Dhanmondi residence, he added
Earlier, in January, the High Court granted anticipatory bail to the wife and two daughters of Nazmul Huda in a case filed on charge of laundering money.
ACC assistant director Md Shafi Ullah filed two cases on January 9, accusing Huda’s wife Sigma Huda and two daughters – Antara Selima Huda and Srabonti Amina Huda.
According to the case statement, Sigma Huda and Antara Selima Huda bought a house in London by laundering Tk 40,660,000 in 2003.
The second case statement said Sigma Huda and Srabonti Amina Huda bought another house in London by laundering Tk 26,750,000 in 2006.
