Navy hands over 45 barracks in Bhola

Bangladesh Navy handed over 45 barracks to local administration on Wednesday which was constructed under the Ashrayan-2 project for the homeless and disadvantaged people of Monpura upazila of Bhola district.

Bangladesh Navy built these barracks on the instruction of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and under the supervision of Armed Forces Division (AFD).

There are five units in each barracks. Each of the units can have one family. Each barracks has kitchen and bathroom facilities. A total of 225 homeless and disadvantaged families will get quality accommodation.

On behalf of the local administration, Md Shamim Mia, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of the upazila formally received the barracks. During the handover programme, representatives from Navy and local dignitaries were present.

In the midst of the corona virus infection across the country, Navy completed the project within the stipulated time by continue the work of barracks construction in compliance with proper hygiene regulations.

It may be mentioned that, under Chattogram Naval Region Commander, construction of 140 barrack houses under two more projects in Hatiya upazila of Noakhali district and 208 barrack houses under 4 projects in Sandwip upazila of Chittagong district is underway.
