Bashundhara Foundation disburses Tk 4m interest-free loans

Bashundhara Foundation has distributed Tk 4 million among the poor as interest-free loans in the last one month as part of its humanitarian efforts to support the livelihoods of the underprivileged communities.

Founded by Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan, the non-profit organization has been distributing interest-free loans among the poor without any service charge since 2005.

Bashundhara Foundation completed the four-week-long 57th round of the credit disbursement programme among 429 beneficiaries at Bashundhara Foundation central office at Bancharampur upazila of Brahamanbaria on Monday, said a release.

Bashundhara Foundation deputy general manager Md Maimun Kabir, Bashundhara Group deputy chief engineer Md Shafiqul Islam, Foundation manager Mosharaf Hossain, junior officers Anwar Hossain and Md Shahjahan were also present on the occasion.

This non-profit organization so far supported 20,450 extreme poor since commencing its journey as well as expanding services across three upazilas of Brahmanbaria and Cumilla.
