Chuadanga reports 82 more corona cases

CHUADANGA: As many as 82 more people have been infected with corona in the last four hours in the district, taking the total numbers of cases to 2,732 in the district.

Confirming the matter around 9:00 am on Tuesday, district civil surgeon Dr ASM Maruf Hasan said results of 135 samples came this morning from PCR lab of Kushtia Medical college hospital.

Of them 82 persons have been tested positive for the virus, with the positivity rate of 60.74 per cent.

Among the newly contacted coronavirus, 35 are in Sadar, seven in Alamdanga, and 20 in Damurhuada and 20 in Jibannagar upazila.

Of the total infected patients, 50 have been kept at an isolation unit in Chuadanga Sadar Hospital and the rest are in home quarantine.

As many as 1,980 patients have already been recovered from the virus while 85 died in the district.

Chuadanga municipality and Alokdiya union under Sadar upazila are under lockdown till June 26 midnight.

Meanwhile, a public notice signed by Md Nazrul Islam, deputy commissioner of Chuadanga, was issued and imposed stricter lockdown for seven days in Jibannagar upazila starting from 6:00 am on Tuesday.

During lockdown, all types of inter-district public transport services and all type of vehicles will be suspended. Only emergency services are out of the order.

The first coronavirus patient was first reported in the district on March 19 last year.
