A Dhaka court on Sunday placed Mehzabin Moon on a four-day remand for allegedly killing her parents and sister.

Metropolitan Magistrate Debabrata Biswas passed the remand order when Inspector of Kadamtali Police Station Jakir Hossain produced her before the court and sought seven-day remand for her.

On Saturday morning, police recovered the bodies of her parents --Masud Rana, 50, and Mousumy Islam, 40, -- and younger sister Jannatul, 20, from their residence at Muradpur in Jurain under Kadamtali in the capital.

Moon’s husband Shafiqul Islam and their daughter Tabassum Tripti, 6, were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in unconscious state.  On Friday night, Moon allegedly fed them foods mixed with sedative and strangled the three to death. On Saturday morning, she informed police of the incident dialling the national helpline 999.

On Sunday, Sakhawat Hossain, paternal uncle of Moon, filed a case against her and her husband Shafiq with Kadamtali Police Station.

In the case, the plaintiff alleged that Shafiq instigated Moon to kill her parents and sister.

Moon was shown arrested in the case on Sunday morning after she was detained from her house on Saturday morning. Shafiq is now undergoing treatment at the DMCH.
