Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman GM Quader, also the deputy leader of the opposition in parliament, said auto-pass and auto-promotion will lead the country’s education system into destruction.
“Auto-pass and auto-promotion will push our education system into destruction. There is no shortcut method for acquiring knowledge. Certificate oriented education will turn us into a foolish nation,” he said in a written statement on Friday.
GM Quader lamented that though markets, haat-bazaars and offices remain open, the educational institutions have been closed for over one year in the name of containing Covid-19 infections. “It is nothing but a suicidal decision,” he said.
The JP chief said though some initiatives of online education system has been taken, the system is fruitful for very poor number of students as it is limited to rich people only.
“It is not possible to run proper educational activities through online system. At the same time, the system is discriminating between the small number of beneficiaries of online system and the underprivileged group,” he added.
GM Quader said the educational institutions of the country will have to be opened as early as possible after inoculating the students and the teachers on the priority basis.
