Dhaka Electric Supply Company Limited (DESCO) has formally opened its 24 sub-stations with 33/11 KV to facilitate 450,000 new subscribers on Thursday.
The 24 substations having combined capacity 1736MVA will support to connect 450,000 new subscribers.
It will also help to overcome system loss, low voltage problem and will ensure quality supply of electricity at Uttara phase-3 and Purbachal city in the capital. State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid inaugurated the 24 sub-stations.
He expressed his disappointment over the delay of the project funded by Asian Development Bank. DESCO Chairman Sheikh Faizul Amin presided over the programme virtually while Power Secretary Md Habibur Rahman and DESCO Managing Director Md Kawser Amir Ali also attended the function.
