The 584MW Unique Meghnaghat Power Limited, a concern of Unique Group, has signed an agreement to mobilise Tk 30.55 billion under a syndicated loan from state-owned Sonali Bank, Janata Bank, Agrani Bank and Rupali Bank on Tuesday.
Under the agreement, Agrani Bank will work as lead arranger and agent bank for mobilise of Tk 30.55 billion out of total cost of Tk 40.73 billion in favour of Unique Meghnaghat Power Limited.The 584MW Unique Meghnaghat Power plant project is expected to start electricity generation on July next year, said a release on Wednesday.
Unique Meghnaghat Power Limited Managing Director Chowdhury Nafees Sharafat and Agrani Bank General Manager (Credit) Dr Abdullah Al Mamun and representatives of other three banks signed the syndicate project loan facility agreement on behalf of their respective organisations at a city hotel on Tuesday.
Agrani Bank Chairman Dr Zaid Bakht was present at the signing ceremony as the chief guest.
Agrani Bank Managing Director and CEO Mohammad Shams-Ul Islam, Sonali Bank Limited CEO and Managing Director Ataur Rahman Prodhan, Janata Bank Limited Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Abdus Salam Azad, Rupali Bank Managing Director and CEO Md Obayed Ullah Al Masud, Unique Meghnaghat Power Limited Chairman Md Noor Ali, Unique Meghnaghat Power Limited directors, Standard Chartered Bank Country Chief Executive Officer to Bangladesh Nasir Azaz Bijoy, Deputy Managing Directors, General Manager, high officials, among others, were present on the occasion.
Top officials of the lender banks and Unique Group were also present on the occasion.
