Woman killed by ‘ex-husband’ in Khulna

KHULNA: A woman was killed by her ex-husband at Dumuria upazila in the district on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Parvin Begum, 34. She along with her two children lived in a rented house adjacent to Dumuria Mahila College.

Local and police sources said Parvin got married with Liton of Aitala village eight years ago. It was her second marriage. A month back, she divorced him.

Since then, Liton asked her several times to marry him again and used to locked altercation with her as she declined the proposal.

Following to the matter, Liton went to her house at about 3:00am and beat up her mercilessly in her head and on other body parts with a wood, leaving her severely injured.

She was taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared her dead. 

Confirming the matter, Dumuria Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Obaidur Rahman said Parvin’s family filed a case accusing Liton of killing their daughter.
