Power Ministry donates Tk 223m to PM’s funds

The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resource has contributed about Tk 222.5 million to the Prime Minister’s Coronavirus Assistance Fund and House Construction Fund by Private Finance.

State Minister for Power and Energy Nasrul Hamid has handed over a cheque of the amount to Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Dr Ahmad Kaikaus at PMO in the capital on Thursday.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina virtually joined the event from Ganabhaban.The amount was mobilised from offices or companies of Power Division and companies of Petrobangla and BPC under Energy and Mineral Resource Division.

The ministry has donated about Tk 70 million to house construction fund by private finance and about Tk 52.5 million to coronavirus assistance fund.

Energy and Mineral Resource Division Senior Secretary Md Anisur Rahman, Power Division Secretary Md Habibur Rahman, BPC Chairman ABM Azad, Petrobangla Chairman Abul Mansur Md Faizullah and Bangladesh Power Development Board (PDB) Chairman Engineer Belayet Hossain were present at the event.
