3 ‘robbers’ arrested

Members of the Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) detained three alleged robbers along with firearms in Bhola on Monday.

Lt Commander Amirul Haque, media officer at the BCG headquarters, confirmed the matter.

He said that on the basis of secret information, a raid was carried out under the leadership of Lt SM Tahsin Rahman at the den of the notorious robber Jahangir Bahini located in the char area of Madanpur under Daulatkhan Police Station of the district.

Sensing the presence of the BCG, the robbers fired at the BCG members, prompting them to retaliate.

Later, Jahangir, 45, Rahim, 47, and Mohammad Nur Alam, 39 were arrested from there with 3 local pistols and sharp weapons.

Later, detainees and local weapons were handed over to Bhola Police Station.
