CHATTOGRAM: Criminal Investigation Department (CID) sought a five-day remand for BNP Joint Secretary General Aslam Chowdhury in a case filed for subversive activities.

Special Superintendent of Police (SSP) of CID Shahnewaz Khaled said they submitted the remand prayer for the accused Aslam Chowdhury with a Chattogram court on Monday.

Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate Hossain Mohammad Reza fixed June 10 for hearing the remand prayer through a virtual court, he said.

Earlier, CID appealed to the court to show Aslam, who is now in jail, arrested in the case filed with Akbar Shah Police Station for subversive activities on February 1 in 2015.

Mentionable, Aslam was arrested from Dhaka's Khilkhet area for allegedly hatching a conspiracy with Israeli intelligence agency Mossad to topple the government on May 15 in 2016
