IPNA, DRRA launch telemedicine services

IPNA director Prof Dr Shaheen Akhter and DRRA executive director Farida Yesmin sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at IPNA seminar room of BSMMU in the capital on Saturday.

The Institute of Paediatric Neurodisorder and Autism (IPNA) of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) and Disabled Rehabilitation and Research Association (DRRA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to provide telemedicine services for the children with autism.

IPNA director Prof Dr Shaheen Akhter, also dean of the Faculty of Paediatrics of BSMMU, and DRRA executive director Farida Yesmin signed the deal at IPNA seminar room on Saturday, says a press release.

As per the agreement, both the institutions will provide the underprivileged children with neurodevelopmental disorders and their families living in remote parts of the country with telemedicine services by a multidisciplinary team (MDT) of the institute.

IPNA deputy director (academic) Dr Kanij Fatema, assistant professor Dr Syeda Tabassum Alam, training coordinator Dr Muzharul Mannan, DRRA adviser (communication, advocacy and resource mobilisation) Swapna Reza and project director Debesh Das were also present at the ceremony, among others.
