RAJSHAHI: President of Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Md Muniruzzaman has termed the proposed budget for 2021-2022 fiscal year as pro-people and development oriented.
In an instant reaction here on Friday, the chamber leader also said emphasis should be given in ensuring transparency and accountability in implementation of the ever-highest annual budget, reports BSS.
“Its implementation will not be impossible,” he said, adding that such a budget was very needed to help reflect hopes and aspirations of the public in general.
He praised Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, for proposing the ever-biggest budget.
Muniruzzaman calls for giving special budgetary allocation to the potential sectors of the Rajshahi region through bringing some additions and reduction in the proposed budget.
“The proposed budget is capable of contributing to national development,” said business leader Sekender Ali.
He added that the budget will obviously supplement the improvement process of national and socio-economic conditions after expediting the GDP growth alongside elevating human resources and reducing poverty.
Ali says the proposed budget has clear-cut indications of giving emphasis towards the vital sectors like ICT, education, agriculture, health, fuel and power, industry, investment and social safety net.
Sekender Ali reacted to the proposed budget terming it as pro-people. “We have long been demanding division-based special budgetary allocation to uplift the Rajshahi region,” he added.
“We think overall development of the nation will not be possible until balanced development,” Sekender Ali added. He, however, viewed that the budget will play a vital role in overall development of the nation.
