With the government’s goal to curb corruption and accelerate development,
Tk 159 crore has been allocated for the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in the proposed national budget for 2021-2022 fiscal year.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal on Thursday proposed the budget which was Tk 150 crore in 2020-21 FY and Tk 121 crore in the revised budget of current fiscal.
In his budget speech in parliament, he said the government has been providing adequate legal and financial assistance for the ACC to fight against grafts in a transparent manner. He said there are plans to fully automate the ACC to further strengthen the commission.
Software will be developed for enhancement of the capacity of the commission, proper monitoring of investigation and case management work, said the minister adding that the government will stick to its tough stance against corruption.
