Bangladeshi weightlifter Juhora Khatun Nisha will achieve the gold as she was ended her campaign with earning a silver in the women’s 81kg weight of the 13th South Asian Games as the Indian gold medalist Sharsti Singh punished with a two-year ban by her federation after finding positive in dope test.
“The procedure is going on. India has already sent back their dope test report, medal and certificate to the hosts of SA Games 2019 Nepal Olympic Association. They can announce our gold medal any day,” weightlifting general secretary Nazrul Islam told The Daily Sun on Tuesday.With the feat, Bangladesh will have three gold medals in weightlifting. Earlier, Mabia Akter Simanta and Ziarul Islam secured gold in women’s76kg and men’s 96kg respectively.
