Mukta Pani to be available at Meena Bazar outlets

Meena Bazar has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ministry of Social Welfare’s Physically Handicapped Protection Trust – Maitri Shilpa – in the capital on Sunday.

Under the agreement, the pure bottled water brand ‘Mukta Pani’, produced by Maitri Shilpa, will be marketed at all outlets in Meena Bazar, said a press release.

Mukta Pani is processed using state-of-the-art ‘reverse osmosis’ (RO) process at a water purifying factory owned by the Ministry of Social Welfare in Bangladesh.

Everyone involved in the production process of this water brand is physically handicapped.

Nonetheless, they continue to work in this factory with an energetic attitude, ignoring their physical disabilities. The entire profits from the sales of these products will be spent on the welfare of the disabled.

The purpose of this MoU between Maitri Shilpa and Meena Bazar is to respond to the Prime Minister’s initiative of marketing Mukta Pani, thereby helping the physically challenged to become financially self-sufficient and become an active member of mainstream society.

Md. Selim Khan, Executive Director of Maitri Shilpa said, “Maitri Shilpa's 'Mukta Pani' project is not just a business venture, it involves the life-long dream of many disadvantaged people to become self-reliant.” Our alliance with Meena Bazar will undoubtedly take these hardworking physically challenged people one step further on their path to self-reliance.”

CEO of Meena Bazar Shaheen Khan said, “We are really proud to be a part of such a great initiative like Mukta Pani. All the physically handicapped people working with Mukta Pani inspire the spirit of working hard in our lives. We are hopeful that like us, many more organisations will come forward to encourage and stand by the physically disabled people who are struggling in life and extend their hands to make these people self-reliant.”
