BGMEA urges to construct culvert at Sarkar Bari

BGMEA President Faruque Hassan presides over a view-exchange meeting with RAJUK chairman on improvement of road connections at BGMEA Complex at Uttara in the capital on Saturday. RAJUK Chairman ABM Amin Ullah Nuri was also present on the occasion.

Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) urged Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) to repair roads, especially the one that connects Sector 12 of Uttara to BGMEA Complex and to construct a culvert at Sarkar Bari to ease communications for the everyday commuters in the area.

BGMEA President Faruque Hassan said that BGMEA represents the RMG industry of Bangladesh and provides important services to export-oriented garment factories including issuance of UD.

He came out with this remark at a meeting between RAJUK Chairman ABM Amin Ullah Nuri and BGMEA President Faruque Hassan at the latter’s office on Thursday to discuss the issue of improving road connections to BGMEA Complex at Uttara in Dhaka.

A large number of officials from different garment factories travel to the BGMEA Complex located at Uttara every day for official purposes, Faruque Hassan said.

RAJUK Chairman ABM Amin Ullah Nuri said that the RMG industry has been making significant contributions to the economy of Bangladesh. Agreeing with the points mentioned by the BGMEA President in the meeting, ABM Amin Ullah Nuri said that RAJUK would extend all necessary cooperation to BGMEA with regard to improving road communications in the areas.

The RAJUK Chairman assured BGMEA that steps would be taken to repair roads in the area on priority basis.

BGMEA Vice President Md Shahidullah Azim, Vice President (Finance) Khandoker Rafiqul Islam, Vice President Md Nasir Uddin and Director Md Mohiuddin Rubel attended the meeting.

RAJUK Major (Retd Engineer) Shamsuddin Ahmed Chowdhury, Chief Engineer (Project & Design) ASM Raihanul Ferdous, and Chief Engineer (Implementation) Ujjwal Mallick also attended the meeting.
