‘Shishu Bokta’ Rafiqul put on remand again

A Dhaka Court on Thursday placed Rafiqul Islam Madani, widely known as ‘Shishu Bokta’, on three-day remand in a case filed over violence in the capital.

Metropolitan Magistrate Debdash Chandra Adhikary passed the order after sub-inspector Md Zahidul Alam, also the investigation officer (IO) of the case, produced him before the court virtually seeking a seven-day remand for interrogation.

The IO told the court that Rafiqul was involved with the mayhem through his provocative speeches against Narendra Modi. He needs to be remanded to gather more information regarding this, the IO said.

Earlier, Rafiqul Islam Madani was shown arrested in the case filed with Paltan Police Station over violence centering Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on March 26.
