Shakib back to Tallawahs

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan returned to Jamaica Tallawahs for the upcoming ninth edition of Caribbean Premier League, scheduled to take place in St Kitts and Nevis from August 28 to September 19.

This will be the third season for Shakib representing Tallawahs in CPL as he had earlier played for the franchise in 2016 and 2017 respectively and also won the title during the 2016 edition of the T20 tournament.

The 34-year old also represented Barbados Tridents in the 2013, 2018 and 2019 editions of the tournament and also won his second CPL title with Tridents in 2019.

Shakib couldn’t play the previous edition of CPL as he served a one-year ban imposed by International Cricket Council for not reporting corrupt approaches.

CPL authorities also confirmed that West Indies hard-hitting opener Chris Gayle will be back with St Kitts and Nevis Patriots while South African batsman Faf du Plessis will be playing for St Lucia Zouks in the upcoming edition.
