MPO-registered teachers and employees on Wednesday demanded that the government nationalise educational institutions in the country.

The teachers made the demand at a press conference at National Press Club in the capital. Ten organisations of MPO-registered teachers and staffs jointly organised the press conference.

They also called upon the government to provide 100 percent festival bonus before Eid-ul-Azha for the teachers by allocating sufficient funds to the education sector in the upcoming national budget.

Speaking on behalf of the leaders, Jasim Uddin Ahmed, convener of the 100 Percent Festival Allowance Implementation Committee, put forward their various demands.
