Bangladesh Bank (BB) on Tuesday asked all scheduled banks to keep branches open in lockdown areas.

The central bank’s Department of Off-Site Supervision has issued a notice adding that banks will have to inform local administration about their employees’ personal detail for ensuring their hassle free movement in the lockdown area.

The central bank issued the notification after having discussion with respective metropolitan and district administrations. Recently lockdown has been imposed in Chapainawabganj district and Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar to curb the spread of Covid-19 cases.
