Razib joins Niaz in third place

Bangladeshi grandmasters Niaz Murshed and Enamul Hossain Razib are placed third with 2.5 points each after the fourth day of the ongoing Asian Continental Individual Hybrid Chess Championship 2021 on Monday.

GM Niaz, who previously secured two points from three games, played a draw with candidate master Aidtya Bagus Arfan of Indonesia in the day’s fourth-round game.

GM Razib, who previously had 1.5 points, however, clinched a victory over woman international master Nazerke Nurgali of Kazakhstan in his match.

Among others, IM Abu Sufian Shakil and IM Mohammad Farhad Rahman earned one point each after beating their two Philippines opponents - Gladmir Chester Romero and Jimmy Dano respectively.

FM Subrota Biswas conceded a defeat to Indonesia grandmaster Susanto Megaranto.

With the day’s result, IM Shakil and IM Farhad earned two points each while FM Subrota remained with his previous 1.5 points after the fourth round.
