BSMRSTU students demand reopening of university

GOPALGANJ: Students of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU) on Monday demanded reopening of the university, campus and halls as soon as possible.

They made the demand from a human chain held at the main gate of the university on Monday.

Abdullah al Razu a student of Bangla department said, “The closure of the university makes us depressed. Even our parents are getting worried day by day. We want to get rid of this situation. So we urged our prime minister to take necessary steps to reopen education institutions.”

Shikder Mahbub a student of Management said, “University students are more aware about coronavirus and they will be able to follow hygiene guidelines more than anyone else. But when all the sectors of Bangladesh have already reopened, the educational institutions are still remains closed. We want an end of this situation.”

All educational institutions across the country have been shut since March 17 last year due to corona pandemic.
