Students of different institutions on Monday staged demonstration across the country, demanding reopening of all educational institutions immediately.

Students of different institutions of the capital including Dhaka College, Eden College, and Dhaka City College formed a human chain in front of the National Press Club, requesting the government to reopen their institutions following health codes.

All the offices, mills and factories are remaining open following health guidelines, but continuous closure of educational institutions is illogical, many students opined.

Millions of students in the country are at stake due to the closure of educational institutions for over a year, they said.

The students of different schools, colleges and universities under the banner of ‘General Students’ also formed human chains in different part of the country including at Jahangirnagar University, Cumilla University, Tangail Shaheed Minar, and Haji Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University in Dinajpur, Gazipur town, and Satmatha in Bogura town.

The agitating students also said they are extremely frustrated fearing session jams.

They also warned that they would mount further protests if their demands are not met immediately.

All the educational institutions have been closed since March 17, 2020 following the corona situation in the country.
