Archers off to Switzerland for World C’ship

An 11-member Bangladesh archery team, comprising eight archers and three officials on Sunday morning left Dhaka for Switzerland to take part in the Archery World Championship stage two, scheduled to be held on May 17-23 in Lausanne. A Bangladesh Archery Federation official confirmed The Daily Sun that the archers left at 06:35am via a Turkish Airlines flight. The team, comprising Ruman Shana, Ram Krishan Saha, Rubel Hakim Ahmed, Tamimul Islam, Mehenaj Akter Monira, Beauty Ray, Diya Siddeki and Asim Das, will take part in an international competition after a 17-month break. The three officials are: Bangladesh Archery Federation General Secretary Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapal (delegation official), Martin Frederick (head coach) and Mohammad Ziaul Haque (coach).
