The budget session of the 11th parliament will begin on June 2.
The national budget for the fiscal year (FY) 2021-2022 is likely to be placed in parliament on June 3.The 13th session of the parliament will start at 5:00 pm, said a press release of the parliament secretariat.
President Abdul Hamid convened the session, exercising his power bestowed upon him by Article 72 (1) of the constitution. The Business Advisory Committee on parliament will finalise the duration and other activities of the budget session.
Like other sessions during the Covid-19 pandemic, the budget session will run maintaining health guidelines. In this case, only MPs who were tested negative for Covid-19 will be allowed to attend the session.
A limited number of lawmakers, who are required for fulfilling quorum in the House, will be asked to attend the parliament session on a rotation basis, sources said.
