The government should make need-based assessment of youths for making an inclusive budget to attain sustainable development goals (SDG), said economist Prof Salim Uddin.

Addressing a virtual dialogue session, Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation (BHBFC) Chairman Prof Salim Uddin emphasised on equal distribution of resources for development of youth.

SDG Youth Forum, a social organisation, organised the pre-budget dialogue focusing on youth participation in national budget, said a press release of BHBFC on Sunday.

BHBFC Chairman Prof Salim Uddin attended the dialogue as chief guest while Member of Parliament Nahim Razzak was connected to the session as special guest.

SDG Youth Forum President Noman Ullah presided over the session. “We should focus on development of youth to attain the zero-poverty by 2031. The government should make need-based assessment for socio-economic development,” Prof Salim added. MP Nahim Razzaq said that the upcoming budget should have focused on reforming the health and education as the sectors were badly affected in last one year of Covid-19 pandemic.
