Engerypac launches industrial park focusing on energy, automobile

Energypac has focused on automobile and infrastructural development as the power sector conglomerate launched industrial park connecting energy, automobile, and infrastructure.

It will produce JAC branded commercial vehicles, local Glad branded generators and prefabricated steel building under Steelpac brand as immediate projects.

A top official briefed at a virtual launching ceremony of Enegerypac Industrial Park on Saturday.

The power generating company established the industrial park over 52 bighas of land in Shreepur of Gazipur, near the capital Dhaka.

Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun was connected to the launching ceremony as the chief guest while the Energypac Power Generation Chairman Rabiul Alam made vote of thanks on the occasion.         

Managing Director Humayun Rashid said the Energypac will assemble bus in Bangladesh in partnership with the Chinese automobile giant Ankai.

He said the industrial hub will produce 11,600 metric tons of steel, 1,800 commercial vehicles and 500 generators annually.

“The production and the operational activities of the industrial park will boost the commercial automotive and re-fabricated steel building as part of Enerygypac vision of housing for all,” said Humayun Rashid.

He added, “Energypac has employed around 15,00 people in different projects while 30 percent new workforces add per year maintaining the gender equity.”

Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun said, “The contribution of Engerypac in development of power sector is visible to all and the industrial park will help expansion of the company belong to the spirit of liberation war.”

He said Bangladesh is on track to overcome all the pandemic challenges and move forward under the prudent leadership of prime minister Sheikh Hasina though the pandemic wreaked havoc on all the economies.

“We are making strides to unlock possibilities in many areas, including SDG goals. And companies like Energypac have contributed a lot to complete this task,” he said.

Energypac Power Generation Chairman Rabiul Alam, Directors Enamul Haque Chowdhury, Nurul Aktar and Rezwanul Kabir independent director Mikail Shipar and Mohammed Nurul Amin also joined the session. Currently, EPGL is associated with Steelpac, G-Gas, FG Wilson, Perkins, JCB, JAC, GLAD, John Deere, Siemens operating business in two subsidiaries – Energypac Power Venture Limited and EPV Chittagong Limited.
