Army chief visits Zambia’s defence college

Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed visited various training facilities at the country’s Defense Services Command and Staff College on Wednesday.

He delivered a lecture to the trainee officers of the college on military diplomacy and various activities of Bangladesh Army. 

The army chief also met Brigadier General Stephen Simusandu, Commandant of the Defense Services Command and Staff College, and discussed in detail the process of further strengthening military training, including staff colleges in the two countries.

General Aziz Ahmed paid a courtesy call on Zambia National Service (ZNS) Commandant Lieutenant General Nathan Mulenga on Tuesday.

During the meeting, Lt Gen Mulenga briefed the army chief on the various activities of the ZNS and various welfare activities for the development of the youth.

At that time General Aziz Ahmed also informed about the various welfare activities of Bangladesh Army and the involvement of the army in national development. 

He invited a delegation of the ZNS to inspect the various activities of Bangladesh Army and to participate in various disaster management, counter-terrorism and exercises organised by Bangladesh Army. General Aziz later visited a unit of the ZNS.

General Aziz left Zambia for Bangladesh on Wednesday night and will reach the country today.
