Azad appointed as commissioner of Global Commission on BiodiverCities

Special Envoy of the Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF) Abul Kalam Azad has been appointed as a Commissioner of “Global Commission on BiodiverCities by 2030” of the World Economic Forum (WEF).

As Commissioner, the CVF special envoy will be a part of the Global Commission on BiodiverCities by 2030, a high-level commission with 25 world-renowned experts and practitioners from the public and private sectors, academia and civil society, said the Foreign Ministry on Sunday.

Azad, former principal coordinator of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) and principal secretary at the Prime Minister's Office, is currently discharging as special envoy for the CVF of the United Nations.

The global commission merges the latest research with practical solutions in the service of sustainable, inclusive and nature-positive urban development.
