BSCIC industrial cities producing corona fighting items

Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) industrial cities are producing essential items necessary for fighting corona disease.

They are producing medical oxygen, life-saving drugs and corona-resistant ingredients with hygienic conditions in the wake of corona situation in the country.

“BSCIC has 76 industrial cities across the country. Of these, Bangladesh Industrial Gas Limited, an industrial company in BSCIC Industrial City at Tartia in Tangail, is producing medical oxygen meant for corona treatment.

This company is one of the four companies producing medical oxygen in Bangladesh, according to BSCIC Industrial Cities and Coordination Branch.

The factory produces 10,000 cubic feet of medical oxygen per day, which is being supplied to hospitals and clinics in various northern districts including Tangail, Sirajganj, Rajshahi and Gazipur.

PPE, masks, sanitizers, soap, detergent powders and floor cleaners, life-saving medicines, herbal, unani and animal drugs, baby food and powdered milk, rice, pulses, flour, lentil, mustard, bread, cakes, biscuits, chanachur, chira, puffed rice, cow-feed, poultry feeds, fish feeds, fishing nets, centrifugal pumps, farm implements and parts, pesticides, urea, zinc, readymade garments, dry chemicals, cotton, plastic products, aluminum utensils and other necessary goods are being  produced in BSIC industrial cities, said a  press release on Thursday.

About 6,77,397 men and women are working in BSCIC industrial cities.
