Vice-Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Prof Md Sharfuddin Ahmed said they have taken initiative to increase the production of liquid oxygen from 5,000 liters to 25,000 liters in the hospital.
He is hopeful that there will be no oxygen crisis for the treatment of coronavirus patients in BSMMU.
He appreciated the decision of the government to close India’s borders with Bangladesh for at least two weeks to prevent new strain of coronavirus.
Meanwhile, a total of 1,374 people were administered second dose of coronavirus from BSMMU on Monday. With this a total of 22,304 people took the second jab of Covid-19 from BSMMU.
Besides, 54,564 people took the first dose of coronavirus vaccine till Sunday and a total of 1, 35,541 people underwent coronavirus test at Betar Bhaban of BSMMU until April 25.
