Lahiru Kumara ruled out of Test series

Sri Lankan pacer Lahiru Kumara has been ruled out of the ongoing two-match Test series against Bangladesh due to a hamstring injury, according to several media reports.

An MRI scan on Friday evening confirmed the presence of the hamstring injury which made him unavailable for the remaining part of the series, though an official statement is yet to be issued by Sri Lanka Cricket.

The 24-year old had bowled 28 overs in the first innings, claiming 1-88 while he picked up the injury while fielding on day three.

Kumara will be unable to complete a Test due to injury for the second time in five months as he pulled out midway through the Boxing Day Test in Centurion late last year due to a groin complaint.
