Renowned theatre and television actor Tabibul islam Babu passed away on Friday. He breathed his last around 6:45 pm at Crecent Hospital in the capital. The 77 year old was infected with coronavirus.
Actor Ahsanul Haque Minu has confirmed the news to the media. Tabibul islam Babu was a theatre activist who closely witnessed the evolution of Bangladeshi theatre and played an active role in the movement.He was a founding President of renowned theatre troupe, Theatre. His popular stage works are ‘Khoto Bikkhoto’, ‘Shat Ghaater Kanakori’, ‘Shesh Rokkha’, and ‘Rabindranath Thakur er Dui Bon’ and others.
The actor also featured in many television projects, including Tanvir Mokammel's film ‘Jibon Dhuli’.
He created a new troupe named ‘Natyajan’ in 1997.
